Raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Jean-Pierre Colin moved to Tallahassee in 2006 where he attended Florida A&M University. In 2010, Mr. Colin graduated from Florida A&M University and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a concentration on Minority and Gender.
Previously, Mr. Colin investigated cases at the Leon County and Jefferson County Public Defender’s Office, where he aggressively investigated felony, misdemeanor, traffic and juvenile cases.
Mr. Colin focuses on providing clients with the highest quality investigations which will assist them in obtaining a fair trial. Mr. Colin’s investigations include but are not limited to the following:
- Visit crime scenes to evaluate physical and environmental elements
- Locate and interview potential witnesses and analyzes their statements
- Compose complete and accurate reports presenting findings and evaluations
- Retrieve criminal, medical and psychological health records and contact information for clients
- Take photographs, prepare diagrams, charts, and drawings to aid in the presentation of evidence at trial
- Testify, under oath, in court, based on information collected during investigation
Commissioned by the State of Florida as a Notary Public, Mr. Colin has the ability to obtain sworn statements from both victims and potential witnesses.
Mr. Colin is also certified by the Florida Dep’t of Law Enforcement (FDLE) in which he is given access to the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), which is used to obtain records from Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC), Dep’t of Corrections (DOC), Dep’t of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), Dep’t of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (DHSMV) and Comprehensive Case Information System (CCIS).
